JOB DESCRIPTION:
Join the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service volunteer team at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery Visitor/Environmental Education Center! We are currently seeking one more 2-person team to help staff our Visitor Center and assist in outreach activities for May-August 2025.
Duties include: meeting/greeting public; answering questions; fielding phone calls; performing majority of cleaning (including center restrooms) & minor maintenance; leading tours and helping with field trips; caring for live animals; operating center gift shop; issuing hunting/fishing licenses; stocking/tracking/brochures; helping plan/prepare special events, workshops and outreach programs.
In exchange for an average of 20-24 hours/person/week, work camper volunteers receive a full hook up (FHU) deluxe campsite– level gravel lot, picnic table, fire ring; 50-30 amp service, water and sewer hook ups. Onsite laundry and limited WiFi (booster may be needed depending on type of camper). Complimentary propane offered during winter months.
Our campsites are some of the nicest you will find, and they back up to a beautiful trout stream that is stocked every other day with rainbow trout. Lots to see and explore in the beautiful Lake Cumberland area.
