Cholla Campground is a great winter location in a Sonoran Desert setting next to the Roosevelt Lake Recreation area in Arizona this is located on the Tonto Basin Ranger District on the Tonto National Forest. This campground is one of the many campgrounds that encompasses the shoreline of the largest body of water located in the state. We are looking for a single volunteer or a couple to share their experiences with us, along with allowing them to stay at our site for work provided.
DUTIES
Duties include working with hand tools, and landscaping tools to maintain campground sites in their area. These include fire rings, and site pads. Volunteers will keep in contact with the area manager to fulfill reservations made through the Rec.gov website. The area manager will provide this to them weekly. The volunteer(s) will document time and attendance for their time working. Notify area manager about violations or disputes with recreation users, but will not intervene with disputes, enforce law enforcement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hand tool safety, maintenance, and landscaping experience. This includes: basic painting, building maintenance and facility reporting. Plumbing, basic carpentry and tool use is suggested, but not required.
