DESCRIPTION:

Seeking to fill campground host positions in the Mill Creek Campground at Berlin Lake.

The Mill Creek Campground is a relaxing, family-friendly campground located on Berlin Lake. Berlin Lake is situated on the Mahoning River, where it covers 3,590 acres and offers 70 miles of shoreline. It is nestled Approximately between Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Cleveland Ohio. The banks of the lake are gently to moderately sloped, allowing for easy access. Beech and maple trees cover the area, offering shade and beautiful fall color. A variety of wildlife makes its home around the lake. Visitors delight in viewing nesting ospreys. Bald eagles can occasionally be seen in the area as well. Also, The lake is a popular location for boating, swimming, and fishing. Berlin Lake is renowned for its excellent walleye fishing.

 

The campground has almost 300 total sites and attracts thousands of campers every year. The ranger staff is looking to recruit interested volunteers to help with operating the campground. Hosts primarily will help greet & orient visitors, empty fire rings, clean picnic tables, monitor their assigned area, and represent the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in public contacts.

 

All necessary tools, supplies, equipment, and tools will be provided.

 

Hosts should be at the campground at least five days per week. Holidays and weekends are a must, however exceptions can be made with prior notice and for emergencies.

 

DUTIES

-Greet, help orient, provide information inform visitors of rules and regulations

-Perform minor maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, shoveling and raking

-Inspect campground

-Monitor use of area

-Ash removal from fire pits/grills

-Cleaning picnic tables

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work with people of all backgrounds. Able to perform duties such as emptying trash cans, picking up rubbish, emptying fire rings, etc.
