DESCRIPTION:

Clark’s Ferry Recreation Area is a campground and day use area located along the Mississippi River. The area includes 45 campsites, shower building, vault restrooms, picnic shelter, boat ramp, fishing dock and two playgrounds. Clark’s Ferry is seeking to fill one Volunteer Park Attendant position beginning April 26 through October 22, 2023, to provide reservation management and associated duties. A campsite with amenities that include water, sewer and electric will be provided. Volunteers must provide their own RV/Travel Trailer and reside on a designated campsite for the duration of the season. It is expected that the volunteer will work a minimum of 21 hours per week.

 

DUTIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

·        Use a computer and the recreation.gov program at the park entrance station.

·        Check-in and check-out campers after arrival and departure.

·        Verify America the Beautiful Pass use, reservation information and occupancy during check-in.

·        Conduct campground walk throughs multiple times per day to verify reservations.

·        Review campsite reservation reports as needed to maintain current status.

·        Provide boat ramp day use pass to registered campers.

·        Explain reservation procedures to campers.

·        Follow Corps of Engineer procedures for the operation of computer software.

  • Print required reports and maintain applicable records in accordance with project policy.
  • Inform visitors of park rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Promptly report incidents, complaints and maintenance issues to Park Ranger staff.
  • Provide additional public assistance such as answering questions about the area.
  • Post applicable signage at the park entrance station and post reservations at the picnic shelter.

·        Maintain flags at the park entrance station.

·        Keep the park entrance station (interior and exterior) and the area immediately adjacent neat and clean. Remove trash from the interior of the park entrance station daily.

·        Open the firewood shed for firewood sales during posted hours.

·        Volunteer duties will take place periodically throughout the day. The volunteer is encouraged to be onsite as much as possible.

Ability to provide excellent customer service to visitors of all backgrounds, maintain a positive attitude, work well with others, and operate computer programs.
