Belvidere East/Exit 170 Journey KOA located in Midland, South Dakota is looking for a work camping couple and a single work camper. These openings are for Food Service and Housekeeping for our 2022 season (May 1st to September 30th, 2022).
Food Service
Your job will entail working in our café. Our café has a menu of quick food items that are cooked to order for each of our customers and delivered to their camp site. We also have a Frappuccino, Italian soda and smoothie bar with drinks made to order.
Responsibilities will include:
· Reading food tickets and making food correctly
· Maintaining customer satisfaction on all food items produced
· Prepping Food
· Cleaning Kitchen
· Maintaining inventory to produce menu items
House Keeping
Your job responsibilities will include cleaning:
· Camping Cabins
· Bathrooms and shower houses
· Laundry/Game Room Building
· Office/Store/Registration
Maintaining inventory on cleaning supplies and restroom products (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels)
To reach a 32-hour work week, additional tasks will include outside cleanup and campground upkeep projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 12 pounds without assistance. Able to work inside and outdoors frequently and in various climates. Capable of moving safely over uneven terrain.
Requires: the use of hands/fingers to handle or feel objects, long periods of standing, bending, kneeling and walking required.
COMPENSATION
We pay $12.00 per hour for all hours worked. Payroll is paid on the 1st and 15th of each month.
Our work week is 5 days at 35 hours per week. We provide 2 days off, back-to-back. The same days off are provided to your partner, allowing time to restock your supplies and explore all that South Dakota has to offer and enjoy.
Our compensation includes a full hook-up site with internet. We provide a 20% discount on all items in the store and on propane, free uniform shirts, and a name tag. We also provide a Badland/Black Hills attractions card that provides you with free or limited entrance fees to various sites. Each work camper couple will be provided a golf cart for usage during their employment with Belvidere East KOA.
We have our work campers arrive two weeks prior to the official start date (site free of charge) to get use to the Mountain time zone, explore the area before starting work, get your supplies stocked up and just relax and enjoy the campground.
When you are not on duty, there is plenty to do. Local tourist attractions are located as close as ½ mile. You can play or kayak in several area lakes and rivers, hike around the Badlands or take your fishing pole to one of the local watering holes. If you are an animal lover, our park is visited by many types of local wildlife animals and birds love our lake the surrounds the campground. At night our sky transforms into your own personal planetarium since we are without light pollution. For these reason’s our customers call us a hidden gem on the prairie and choose to stay a couple of nights due to the peacefulness of our location.
We are a KOA Journey campground with 60 sites, we don’t have many long-term guests, so we see new guests every day on each of our sites. There is always something to do at our 40-acre campground. We have an active RV park for our size. Please note, this is a high paced working environment, with most of the time the park is at full capacity. Belvidere East/Exit 170 Journey KOA is located 12 miles south of Midland, South Dakota and 7 miles east of Belvidere. This is a rural area in South Dakota, but only ½ mile north of I-90. Our nearest Walmart or McDonald’s is over 80 miles away. There are closer stores, 20 miles East or West of our campground to get supplies.
