JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary duties of the camp host are to:
Manage recreation.gov reservations,
Ensure visitors are aware of fee requirements and site regulations,
Provide educational information about the area, and
Communicate with BLM staff on emerging issues related to the operations of the campground.
Secondary duties include projects associated with site maintenance primarily related to brushwork, painting, and site road/trail maintenance.
Requirements: The camp host position for the Burro Creek Campground is required to live onsite at the campground between October 1 through April 30 annually. Must provide own housing accomodations. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be able to carry out the jobs assigned.
Site: The camp host site has water, sewer, and electric (via solar) hookups. Please note that the electricity is 30-amp service and works best with a propane powered refrigerator.
Transportation: The camp host will be given a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) to conduct work within the site only. The UTV is only used for administrative purposes, and the BLM will conduct training on operation of the UTV prior to its use.
Provided: The camp host will also be provided with any supplies, tools, or personal protective equipment (PPE) required to complete the assigned tasks.
