ADDRESS: W. Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir; 499 Reservoir Road; Wilkesboro, North Carolina 28697-7462

DEPT: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

DATES: 4/1/2023 – 10/31/2023

DESCRIPTION:

W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir is seeking individuals or couples (preferred) to fill two Campground Attendant positions for Bandit’s Roost Campground and Fort Hamby Campground for the 2023 recreation season.

W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir is seeking 2 individuals or couples (preferred) to fill Campground Attendant positions for the 2023 recreation season from April 1 to October 31. One individual/couple each will be assigned to one of the following campgrounds: Bandit’s Roost Campground and Fort Hamby Campground. Bandit’s Roost Campground is open from April 1 to October 31 while Fort Hamby Campground is open from April 15 to October 15. Attendants must provide their own RV/Travel Trailer and reside on a designated campsite inside their assigned campground during the duration of the season. See amenities in Housing/Amenities section.

Attendants will work a rotating 2-week schedule in which they will work Monday to Thursday the first week and then Tuesday to Thursday the second week. Attendants will work 8 hours per day on their scheduled days. The weekly hours will be 32 hours the first week and 24 hours the second week. The Recreation Ranger will identify the clock hours necessary to provide optimum coverage and services to visitors. Couples do not have to work together but may share hours (i.e., one individual works the first 4 hours then the other individual works the second 4 hours). Attendants are expected to stay on-site as much as possible on their scheduled days. However, it is understandable that attendants may need to leave from time to time to take care of personal business. Attendants shall inform the Campground Hosts when they are leaving for short periods of absence and when they arrive back. For extended absences, the attendants will coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator or Recreation Program Ranger. See duties in DUTIES section.
