TITLE: Campground Host
DEPARTMENT: Adventure Pisgah
REPORTS TO: Campground Manager
SUPERVISES: Campground Guests
SALARY: 8.65 an hour

 

Multiple Locations Available: Davidson River Campground, Lake Powhatan Campground, North Mills River Campground and Sunburst Campground.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Campground Host is a seasonal position with Adventure Pisgah.
This position is required for successful operation.

 

I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various
types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the
position.

  • Greeting and registering guests and collecting user fees.
  • Monitors restrooms to ensure cleanliness and appropriate paper products are available. Sanitize all surfaces including all showers, toilets, and sinks. Clean mirrors, check shower curtains, sweep and mop floors, remove all cobwebs, blow off sidewalks and around buildings.
  • As Needed: Clean door facings and jams, check exterior of building, clean overhead fan and vents.
  • Assists in inspecting and cleaning the grounds.
  • Uses “Good Host” concepts with the public.
  • Identifies potential safety hazards and reports to the Manager.
  • Attends meetings held during the season as a combination of planning and training opportunities.
  • Be present nights, weekends & holidays of scheduled days. Absences coordinated with the manager(s).
  • Responsible for provision of information about the facility and area, act as liaisons with forest visitors, perform security patrols, act as back-up to management in areas of public contact and security, and/or other duties as assigned.
  • Cleaning & Trimming Roadways & Trails back 3 to 5 feet
  • Emptying trash containers and replacing liners.
  • Cleaning campsites, picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and disposing of ashes.
  • Typical duties include: Raking and grooming of sites and public areas. Maintaining a litter free facility, picking up cigarette butts, maintaining other areas to include but not limited to trails, outposts, and glamping tents.
  • Campground Hosts appearance should always be neat and clean. Uniforms and name tags must be worn at all times while on duty.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees and governmental agency representatives.
  • Must be familiar with all policies and guidelines of Adventure Ocala and partnering agencies.

 

II. NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the position and/or to be learned within
a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with Adventure Ocala, United States Forest Service, and the public.
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills to ensure exceptional customer service, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Preference given for specialized maintenance experience or skills, including the maintenance of equipment such as golf carts and mowers.
  • Must adhere to streamlined processes put forth by the administrative staff.
  • The ability to independently respond to any emergencies according to protocol as they arise.

 

III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience and qualifications necessary to perform the duties associated with the position.
  • Desire to live and work in the Pisgah National Forest.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Must maintain a positive, efficient, and functional work culture.
  • Must own hard sided RV

 

IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here must be met by an employee in
order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Environment: Work is performed primarily at the campground;

incumbents may be required to work extended hours including
evenings, weekends and holidays and may be required to
attend meetings.

 

  • Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability

and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to
occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to
lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate to heavy
amounts of weight; to operate building maintenance
equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.

 

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

 

Pay: $10.50 per hour
