Job Description

Ranch Camps Operations Techs have one of the most important and integral jobs at summer camp: keeping the camp running smoothly and enabling the great experience of the campers and staff from behind the scenes. Operations techs keep their wits about them all summer-watching for what needs to be done to ensure and beautiful and safe facility for all.
All our staff work in tandem with Camps Supervisory Team to ensure the positive resolution of any and all camper, counselor, and parent issues that may arise.
Finally, all staff must be able to attend Staff Orientations from 5/22/2023 – 6/5/2023 and be available to live at camp for the summer season from 6/6/2023 – 8/13/2023. While we prefer staff to work for the entire summer, we understand if you cant and encourage you to apply if you can work at least 5 6 weeks of our summer season.

Roles and Responsibilities
Landscaping and groundskeeping a beautiful 40-acre ranch camp
Daily inspections of the camp and common areas throughout the day to pick up trash/debris.
Ensure all common areas and amenities are neat and free of litter at all times.
Assist in cleaning and preparing the cabins between camp sessions
Assist the maintenance manager with light maintenance duties such as checking appliances are fully operational and outlets and switches are in working condition.
Change light bulbs in units, common areas, and breezeways.
Test and replace batteries in smoke detectors.
Use of power washers, tractor, or lawn equipment as requested.
Notify the Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager of any observed hazard or potentially dangerous situation for campers, guests, staff and livestock
Move garbage to the front gate dumpster from kitchen and dining hall at the end of the day.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
Physical Demands: This job requires the incumbent to have operative auditory and visual functioning. Employee must also be able to walk upwards of two (2) miles each day, including use of stairs and uneven terrain. Employee may also stand, sit in chairs or on the ground, run, and swim. Employee may lift or body block campers when necessary. Candidates must be able to walk, stand, lift, bend, climb stairs, and perform strenuous activities such as shoveling or weeding.
Work Environment: Working conditions may include being in indoor, often times loud spaces and spending extended time outdoors under the sun. Must have the ability to work in a hectic, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining the standard of care.

Qualifications and Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of grounds keeping equipment and methods required
Flexible with the ability to shift in role as needed
Supportive in nature and willing to help out wherever needed within department
Previous grounds, janitorial, or housekeeping experience is preferred.
Must be able to work outside in the elements of the weather.
Able to complete work quickly and have an eye for details.
Ability to follow instructions, organize, multi-task, and prioritize daily responsibilities around interruptions.
Able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Must have a valid drivers license or reliable transportation.
Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
Satisfactorily fulfill requirements for employment at the Staenberg-Loup JCC, including: background screening, three references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law.
Must be high-energy
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of heavy-duty grounds equipment desired
