JCC Ranch Camp is the Denver JCCs Residential Camp serving campers entering 2nd through 11th grade. Individuals of all backgrounds, faiths, and families are welcome.
At Ranch Camp, we aim to create an environment for campers that fosters social, spiritual, and emotional growth. Our inclusive and unique community is a place for people to thrive, be creative, and teach about something they truly care about; sharing that passion with future generations.
Ranch Camps Kitchen Staff have one of the most important and integral jobs at summer camp: assisting the chef team in assuring everyone receives a meal. They are responsible helping to cook all the meals at camp, take lead on kitchen clean up, and assist in keeping all meals and the kitchen kosher.
All our staff work in tandem with Camps Supervisory Team to ensure the positive resolution of any and all camper, counselor, and parent issues that may arise.
Finally, all staff must be able to attend Staff Orientations from 5/22/2023 – 6/5/2023 and be available to live at camp for the summer season from 6/6/2023 – 8/6/2023. While we prefer staff to work for the entire summer, we understand if you cant and encourage you to apply if you can work at least 5 6 weeks of our summer season.

Roles and Responsibilities
Back of house prep work for meals
Front of house prep work for meals
Cleaning & sanitizing in accordance with CDPHE regulations
Cook meals in according with kashrut
Flexible with the ability to shift in role as needed
Maintain separation of allergens per camp policy and kitchen manager directives
Partake in camp activities when possible
Clean up area to ensure compliance with local health department and licensing requirements

Physical Demands and Working Environment
Physical Demands: This job requires the incumbent to have operative auditory and visual functioning. Employee must also be able to walk upwards of two (2) miles each day, including use of stairs and uneven terrain. Employee may also stand, sit in chairs or on the ground, run, and swim. Employee may lift or body block campers when necessary.
Work Environment: Working conditions may include being in indoor, often times loud spaces and spending extended time outdoors under the sun. Must have the ability to work in a hectic, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining the standard of care.

Qualifications and Requirements
Basic Qualifications
High school Diploma or equivalent
Prior kitchen experience or culinary degree or in progress
Prior experience in a service industry kitchen
Strong understanding of dietary needs and allergies
Satisfactorily fulfill requirements for employment at the Staenberg-Loup JCC, including: background screening, three references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law.
Must be high-energy, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded!
Preferred Qualifications
ServSafe certification (line cook position)
