Job Description
🍽️ NOW HIRING: Restaurant Manager at the Pearl on the Plains! 🤠
📍 Medicine Bow, WY
💼 Full-Time | 💰 Salary or Hourly (DOE) + FHU RV Site or Housing Available
Run the Restaurant at a Wyoming Legend
At the Historic Virginian Hotel, we don’t do boring. Built in 1911, this Western landmark has hosted travelers, ranchers, railroaders, and road-trippers for over a century. Inside, you’ll find The Pearl on the Plains—our restaurant and saloon that serves as the social hub of town.
We’re looking for a confident, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, drive team performance, and elevate the guest experience. This is not a clipboard-only role. This is leadership from the floor.
If you’re equal parts operator, motivator, and roll-up-your-sleeves problem solver—you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Be Doing
➡️ Restaurant Leadership – Oversee daily front- and back-of-house operations, ensuring smooth service and strong communication between kitchen, bar, and dining room.
➡️ Team Development – Hire, train, schedule, and lead servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Build a culture that’s accountable, positive, and guest-focused.
➡️ Service & Standards – Maintain high food quality, service consistency, and presentation standards. Work alongside the kitchen team on specials and seasonal offerings.
➡️ Guest Experience – Be visible and approachable on the floor. Handle guest feedback professionally and turn problems into loyalty.
➡️ Financial Oversight – Manage labor, control costs, monitor inventory, and protect margins without sacrificing experience.
➡️ Inventory & Vendors – Oversee ordering for food, beverage, and bar programs. Maintain vendor relationships and ensure accurate counts.
➡️ Events & Banquets – Coordinate group dinners, local events, and private functions hosted at the hotel.
➡️ Hands-On Support – When it’s busy, you’re in it. Running food, pouring drinks, solving problems. Leadership means showing up.
Who We’re Looking For
✔ Previous restaurant management experience required
✔ Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach and hold standards
✔ Financial awareness — you understand labor percentages and food cost
✔ Calm under pressure and decisive when it counts
✔ Willing to live and lead in a small-town Western community
✔ Professional, driven, and not afraid of hard work
We want someone who treats this like their restaurant.
Perks & Benefits
✔ On-site living option — Full RV hookup or housing available
✔ Be part of a true Wyoming landmark
✔ Opportunity to grow within the JET Hospitality portfolio
✔ Autonomy to lead and improve operations
✔ Live where the West is still the West
