JOB DESCRIPTION:
OBEY RIVER CAMPGROUND on DALE HOLLOW LAKE
Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from April to October 2026 10 AM – 2 PM
Peak season (5/15-8/14) hours: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10 AM – 5 PM
Worksite location: Obey River Campground, 100 Obey Park Rd, Monroe, TN 38573
Provided Campsite location: On site at campground with a minimum of 20 hrs. per week of work.
• Duties Include: The volunteer, during assigned workdays, will perform duties in the registration center similar in scope to the contracted Park Attendant. Be the on-site administrator of the campground through the operation of the registration center. Assignments include, but are not limited to, registering campers & visitors, collecting & processing user fees, selling items such as annual passes, forwarding all associated reports, assuring proper use of park facilities, maintaining quiet-hours, reporting maintenance needs, opening and closing gates daily, providing visitor information, checking in/out life jacket loaners, & assisting with park attendants or other volunteers assigned to the campground as directed. Volunteers may be asked to assist with Corps sponsored events. Volunteers must be able to provide friendly customer service to the camper as well as foster a cooperative work environment with the Corps staff & service contractor personnel. The Recreation One Stop/Recreation.gov computer platform will be used for all reservations and user fee transactions. Volunteers will not have responsibilities associated with services provided by other contractors such as restroom cleaning, mowing and maintenance.
