WORK ENVIRONMENT

The RV site is located about 2 miles from the refuge headquarters on Stange Road. We currently have one gravel and one concrete pad. Cell phone reception is good. Pets are allowed but must be under control when outside. The closest amenities are about 2-5 miles away with larger shopping and restaurant options being about 15 miles away. Insects can be troublesome including mosquitoes, ticks and deerflies.

There are many opportunities for your off time including large urban areas less than two hours away that include professional sports, renowned art museums, and music venues. Located on Lake Erie there are many natural areas that offer recreation and relaxation, including world class walleye fishing and amazing bird watching.

If you join us you will be spending time with our large family of local volunteers, members of our friends group and amazing visitors. They work at our visitor center, conduct programs, operate the bookstore, and assist with refuge maintenance. If you have a strong interest to work on something not mentioned we are always open to new ideas.
