Job Description
The scope of work for the Park Host position is to provide year-round support to overnight campers and day use visitors (hereafter referred to as “patrons”) at Twin Coves Park. The Park Host will have a varied schedule but will average 16 days a month per Park Host to include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities for the Park Host position will include, but not be limited to, the following:
A.Provide a self-contained recreational vehicle that shall be parked within the property and live on-site while under agreement with the Town.
B. Be on-call and available 24 hours a day while on duty.
C. Verify patrons have purchased an entrance and/or camp site pass.
D. Maintain written records of complaints and criticisms and a record of patrons on required forms.
E. Write incident reports as necessary.
F. Make routine patrols of the Park while on duty to ensure patrons are in compliance with rules and regulations. Report all disturbances beyond the control of Park Host.
G. Review the conditions of the Park and maintain items that are within Park Host’s ability to handle to include picking-up trash/debris, light cleaning and/or restocking of restrooms, cleaning of fire pits and grills, emptying trash cans, pressure washing fishing pier and courtesy dock, etc.
H. Inspect Park facilities/amenities to include camp sites, restrooms, boat launch, courtesy dock, fishing pier, and automatic entry gate to determine if maintenance is required.
I . Collect all lost and found property and turn-over to park manager.
J. Attend scheduled meetings with Parks and Recreation Division staff and other park hosts.K. Promote the Park and all related activities in a manner that exemplifies excellent customer service to include the following:
1. Educate patrons about Park rules and regulations.
2. Assist patrons with obtaining park permits when necessary.
3. Provide guided tours of the Park to patrons upon request.
4. Provide information about local resources and attractions.
5. Monitor and alert patrons of weather emergencies.
6. Provide general assistance as appropriate.
7. Exercise tact, diplomacy, and courtesy at all times when dealing with the public.
