DESCRIPTION:

Hords Creek Lake is seeking 1-2 volunteers to become volunteer gate attendants from April 1 2022 through 31 March 2023

May be a one- or two-person team, must enjoy people, and be able to get along with people! Responsible for collecting use fees, registering campers and visitors, maintaining campground status reports, reservation, and other reports through a computer program. Attendants also post reservations, provide information to the visiting public, park surveillance, and inform visitors of park rules and regulations, manning the gate house, operating gates to control ingress and egress, checking in and out recreation equipment, etc. The attendants are also responsible for cleaning the gate house and their trailer site. The government will provide computer system, computer paper, fee books, maps and hand out materials. The attendants are required to live in the park on a site provided by the government. The attendants must provide a self-contained recreational type of trailer or RV. The government provides a site with 30 Amp electric, (some sites with 30 Amp and 50 Amp), water and sewer at no cost to the attendant.

 

DUTIES

Greet, help orient, provide information inform visitors of rules and regulations,

Collection of campground and day use fees,

Record keeping,

Managing the reservation system,

Monitor use of area,

Opening and Closing of gate each day.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work with people of all backgrounds, ability to make simple cash transactions/make change, ability to complete simple forms to track visitation, comfortable with answering telephone inquiries.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work to be done mostly inside. Volunteers will work 4 day shift with 8 hour days, 32 hour weeks.
