Job Description

End Date: 9/30/2024
*THIS TIME FRAME CAN BE DIVIDED INTO 1 MONTH COMMITMENTS AS NEEDED*
TYPE OF WORK PERFORMED
The Campground Host duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Checking-in campers and providing them with parking passes
2. Assisting campers with getting on their site
3. Cleaning the bathhouse daily
4. Preparing and cleaning the camper-cabin prior to guest check-in
5. Blowing the campground loop and each individual site as needed
6. Cleaning campsites and fire rings prior to camper check-in as needed
7. Assisting park staff with projects and any other needs
Information – Based (concerning).
1. Message deliveries to campers.
2. Local points of interest. (Walterboro, Charleston, Edisto Beach and surrounding areas)
3. Information to park staff concerning notice of repair work needed
4. Relay to Rangers any notice of violations of park rules and regulations
5. Disseminate information about other state parks in the area (Givhans Ferry, Hunting Island, Edisto Beach, Colonial Dorchester, Charles Towne Landing)
6. Amenities and shopping near by
Uniform
All Volunteers will be issued a uniform and must be worn when working. Volunteers will be issued a vest & nametag
Golf Cart
A park service golf cart is issued to the host for certain projects and needs at the discretion of the Ranger staff. Use of any golf cart is subject to the “rules and regulations” for operating golf carts on State Parks, a copy of which will be supplied.

Hours of Service
Campground Host will work between 25-30 hours per week depending on the needs of the park at that time.
HOURS AND DAYS OF SERVICE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
