Job Description
We have filled two positions but want to add a third part-time staff member or a couple with an RV, Camper or Camper Van. Pets OK with approval :).
Bright Star is a popular and fun campground boasting some of the highest reviews in the Four Corners region of the Southwest. The vibes are high with happy campers and a social community area where many campers gather, cook and dine.
Although we are a small “Mom & Pop” business, we were recently awarded #3 Best Hipcamp out of over 500 in Colorado. Hipcamp is the largest international booking site specializing in Camping & Glamping.
We have a variety of sites , 23 total (Tipis, Tent, RV, Camping Cabins..) on the 40 acres near Mesa Verde Nat’l Park and we are just 5 miles to the city of Cortez where you will find Grocery Stores, Restaurants, a Walmart, a Hospital, Music Events, etc.
POSITION IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE:
We are adding one new Staff Member (June 2024) for a Housekeeping and Camp Hosting position through Oct 15, 2024. (possibility for longer)
- The Camp Hosting is 2 evenings a week on-call. This includes occasionally helping guests between the hours of 3:30 – 10:30 pm (typically 1-3 hrs of work).
- Housekeeping is 4-5 days/week and includes a rotation of cleaning and maintaining common buildings (showers, bathrooms, kitchen and pavilion). It also includes teamwork for daily turnovers, cleaning and laundry for the camping cabins, tipis and yurt. 3-6 hours a day.
- Total working hours for everything ranges from 23-28 hrs/week. 4-5 days/week.
- COMPENSATION: $300 week + RV parking with 30 amp, free laundry onsite, Wifi, use of amenities (showers, central campground kitchen, staff fridge/freezer. We also have good cell service.
There is a possibility to stay through winter on the full hookup RV Pad and manage the reduced amount of Airbnb house, and Hogan (wood yurt) cleanings for trade only during the Winter. However, we cannot plan this now because the Campground is for sale and that option could change. This current position is guaranteed through October 15, 2024.
Besides Cortez and Mesa Verde Nat’l Park, we are 2 hours to Moab, Utah and 1.5 hrs to Telluride or 45 min to Durango, Colorado and much more. There are adventures, hot springs, rafting, lakes and spectacular little road trips in every direction!
