DESCRIPTION:
Volunteer couple needed for maintenance of Carters Lake trail system.
Carters Lake seeks active couple for maintenance of trail system during winter months. Will involve walking weekly to verify conditions and clearing debris when necessary. Chain saw training to be provided for work. Additional duties may be required as assigned.
Weekly examination of hiking trails. Clearing of minor and moderate debris from trail surfaces. Some chain saw work to clear larger debris may be necessary. Reporting of trail erosion and other issues, some manual labor to remedy minor issues may be necessary. Possibility of work on interpretive signage at one or more trails.
Must be adult and capable of lifting at least 50lbs. Capable of walking up to 4 miles in a day through hilly terrain. Ability to handle or willingness to learn how to handle some power tools. Should be relatively fit.
