Position available for Park Resident Campground Host for September& October 2023!

 

Voted #2 in the country by USA today for Best state parks for RVers! Come see why our park is top notch! Located on the Treasure Coast in between the bustling downtown of West Palm Beach and the more laid back downtown of Stuart. Jonathan Dickinson is 10,500 acres and sits along 9 miles of the Loxahatchee River- 1 of 2 designated wild and scenic rivers in Florida. This park offers a serene setting while being centrally located to all the creature comforts of grocery stores, amazing restaurants, and not to mention beaches! Come hang out in a fun environment with a beautiful setting.

This volunteer opportunity for Campground Host requires a 24 hour work week as a park resident volunteer and given a site with full hookups (water/sewer/electric).

Minimum stay 4 weeks, maximum stay 16 weeks. Unfortunately, our park does not have WIFI, but does have decent cell reception. We are also pet friendly, but it is mandatory that pets remain on a leash.

We will provide in house training and all equipment needed for job completion.

 

THE BASICS:

We have 2 large campgrounds split up among 3 loops. Each loop has roughly 50 sites with 2 bathhouses. Each team or individual will be responsible for only 1 loop. The basic duties for each loop will include:

Ability to communicate in a friendly, effective, and professional manner
Physically able to work outdoors in varying conditions
Work independently and with other park staff or other volunteers effectively
Comfortability with radio communication
Maintain and cleaning all bathhouses to Florida State Park high level of sanitation and safety
Maintain and upkeep of sites including:
-Removing debris, micro trash and raking

-Cleaning fire rings and charcoal grills

– Inspecting clothesline posts, picnic table, electric, and water

– Reporting any safety issues to park staff
