Job Description
Description:Our camp hosts are located at 8 campgrounds and several dispersed camping areas. They perform customer service and light maintenance at their assigned location. Our campgrounds are entirely self-service and spread over 75 miles, so park rangers may only visit once per day, making camp hosts our vital boots-on-the-ground customer service!
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Campground Hosts maintain a list of arrivals/departures, make sure each site is ready for the next camper, answer basic questions, inform guests of campground rules, and assist visitors in making reservations through the website or over the phone.Hosts in dispersed camp areas don’t manage reservations but do keep track of site availability and stay duration.
Maintenance duties include picking up litter, emptying fire rings, light weeding, and light restroom maintenance.
All hosts must have a fully self sufficient camping unit. No hookups of any kind are available.
Looking for 5-10 hosts for the 2023 season. Pairs, individuals, families with children, and people who are still working/in their careers (e.g. working remotely) are welcome to apply. Hosts are permitted to have pets.
Elevation: Varies form 6,000 to 9,000 ft

Time Commitment:20 hours per person per week, April – October.
Minimum time commitment: 2 months
Desired time commitment: 3-5 months, mid-May – Labor Day.
Schedule: Most hours are on weekends and holidays, as those are the busiest times. Hosts manage and track their own time.

Amenities:
Free campsite in exchange for your volunteer service! There are no water, sewer, or electric hookups at any campgrounds but cell service is available.
Host sites located in paid campgrounds have a parking area, tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring. Vault toilets are located centrally in each paid campground.
Dispersed areas may vary but have little to no amenities.
