Camp Host Position
Cowlitz Timber Trails Association – Salkum, WA
Part-time, Temporary
We have an opportunity for a host to join the Cowlitz Timber Trails Association team. We are a gate secured campground located on the Cowlitz River. We are one of a select few associations in Washington that provides a year-round campground experience for our members and their guests.
Position Availability:
Year-round
Position Duration:
90-180 days
Time Commitment:
A minimum of 28 hours per week that includes evenings, most weekends, and all holidays during the summer season. Days off will be discussed upon hiring. Camp host must reside in campground during assignment, but must exit the park every 60-days for at least 24-hours (county requirement).
Compensation:
In exchange for your work, you will receive a CTTA site including water, electricity, and holding tank. Camp host must provide their own camper. This is a non-paid position.
Requirements:
Criminal background check required.
Valid driver’s license and proof of personal automobile insurance required with 100/300 liability limits.
Must follow all rules and regulations outlined in the Bylaws, CRBH, any/all government agencies, and Board of Director directives.
Supervision and Training Provided:
Camp host is supervised by managerial staff and will be trained in campground procedures, rules & regulations, and host responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
Work is mostly outside in hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions.
Main Duties:
- Camp hosts must set an example by being model campers who always practice good housekeeping in and around their campsite.
Greet and assist visitors – the most important responsibility you will have is to provide quality customer service. We require good people skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to defuse potentially confrontational situations. - Answer questions and explain rules & regulations.
- Distribute maps and park information.
- Securing the campground after hours and monitor quiet hours.
- Monitor Park for golf cart, ATV, and vehicle infractions.
- Camp hosts will not be asked to discipline or apprehend any park violators for disturbances and/or vehicle infractions. Host will report incidents via reports for handling based on CRBH/Bylaws and Board of Director handling.
- Provide after-hour emergency resource contact.
- Act as a liaison between park visitors and park staff – notify of hazardous conditions, relay comments from visitors (positive or negative), etc.
- Additional duties may arise depending on needs of park.To Apply:
