Owens Creek Campground offers families and individuals enjoyable primitive tent camping. Located just five miles from Thurmont, Maryland, in the rolling hills of Catoctin Mountain Park. There are 50 sites, 3 are ADA accessible. Maximum trailer length is 22 feet and up to 30 feet. One vehicle is permitted per site. A picnic table and fire ring are provided at each site. There are 2 comfort stations and hot showers, but there are no hook-ups for visitor campsites. Firewood is available, with a donation suggested. Use of alcohol is prohibited. Pets are allowed and must be leashed and tended to at all times. Reservations are made on Recreation.gov.
The campground is surrounded by a rolling landscape, perfect for hikes of any level from easy to extremely strenuous. Owens Creek flows past the campground providing a peaceful setting beside a bubbling brook. Whether blanketed in snow in winter months, brilliant with color in the fall or blooming with wildflowers in the spring, Owens Creek offers beautiful scenery all year.
Campground Hosts duties include, assisting visitors concerns at Owens Creek Campground, providing minor campground maintenance, stacking firewood, maintaining cleanliness of the campsites, weed whacking and cutting a small amount of grass, and answering visitors’ general and specific questions.
The Campground Host Position is available from September 21st, 2023 to October 31st, 2023.
The Campground Host is provided a campsite with hook-ups, but must provide their own RV and transportation.
