Enjoy wildflower month at the historic Heritage Landing and Deschutes River State Recreation Area. Heritage Landing and Deschutes River State Recreation Area are located at the mouth of the world-famous Deschutes River where it meets the Columbia River. Heritage Landing is on the westside, while the DSRA campground is on the eastside of the river.
This assignment is ideal for a Solo Host or a Host Team.
Some benefits of hosting at Heritage Landing (HL):
- The host site is located at HL.
- The host site has electric, water, sewer, and a shade shelter.
- HL Hosts rarely perform campground duties.
- HL Hosts shuttle Rangers upriver to Macks Canyon, which is a beautiful drive.
- Fishing, hiking, biking, and birdwatching are a few of the activities you can do on a daily basis.
- Grocery stores, restaurants, and other services are a 20 minute drive to The Dalles.
The core duties include providing information, coordinating boat launch usage, keeping the area clean, shuttling Rangers upriver, and irrigating the host site.
