Job Description
Galveston Island State Park is seeking energetic, friendly, and outgoing Park Hosts to assist in all aspects of park operations. Previous Park Host experience preferred, but not required. Galveston Island State Park is open to the visiting public year round. Park Hosts should expect to work weekends and holidays.
Hosts are a vital part of the park’s operation. As Park Hosts, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and help visitors have memorable experiences. Park Hosts will assist park staff with the day-to-day operations.
Duties include:
– Campsite checks
– General cleaning of facilities (restrooms and campsites)
– Grounds maintenance, including but not limited to, mowing, removing trash and painting
– Assisting park staff by providing quality customer service
– Various small projects as needed in the park.
On site location. 2 sites are on the beachside in the campgrounds and 2 sites are secluded on the bayside not in the campground, all with full hookups. There is no WiFi, but there are laundry facilities in our maintenance area. Park prefers hosts collect mail offsite.
Previous Park Host Experience prefferred. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old. Criminal background checks are required for all persons living/staying in a Host site.
