Volunteer Activities• Conservation Education • Other • Tour Guide/Interpretation • Visitor Information • Back Country/Wilderness Photo Courtesy of NPS DescriptionCongaree National Park is currently recruiting volunteers to lead a number of guided activities in the park. These activities include the following: Nature Discovery Walks–Lead visitors on a guided journey along the park’s popular Boardwalk Trail. Share about the natural resource of the park (i.e. wildlife, plants, trees, insects, etc.). These programs normally take place on Saturdays and Sundays (year round) and last about 1 hour to 2 hours.  Wilderness Hikes–Lead visitors on a guided hike along at least one of the park’s trails. Share about the park’s natural and cultural resources, as well as the park’s unique wilderness characteristics. These programs normally last between 2 and 3 hours and distances range from 1.5 miles to more than 10 miles (based on volunteer’s abilities).  Educational programs–Lead school groups (K-12) on guided walks, primarily along the park’s Boardwalk Trail. Provide information directly related to each group’s educational outcomes and state curriculum standards.  HOUSING & AMENITIESType: Trailer/RV PadsDescription: One volunteer RV/Trailer pad may be available.
