WINTER CAMP HOST 2024-25
JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Camp Host is responsible for providing frequent on-going physical oversight of the campground during the off and shoulder seasons (October 1 to March 31) to ensure campground safety (personal and property). The Camp Host communicates with the Board and with members as required regarding emergent events such as damage to property or persons.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintaining a presence within the campground from October 1 to March 31
· Making daily patrols of the campground and beach access area to ensure its safety.
· Reporting promptly to the appropriate member(s) and the Board any untoward changes/events on membership sites or the camp in general such as: damage from falling objects, wind damage, water or electrical issues that arise, vandalism etc.
· Reporting to the Board any events or conditions that pose a risk to members or common property.
· Reporting to the Board any maintenance issues that arise.
· Taking action as necessary in emergency situations to prevent further risk and/or damage including notifying local emergency authorities as required.
· In emergent situations reminding members, guests and others about WICH Rules and Regulation compliance.
· Clearing branches off roads during the winter and mowing lawns and trimming brush in April if needed.
· Weekly tidying and cleaning of clubhouse and restrooms
· Maintaining on-going communication with the Board through weekly status reports.
The Camp Host is expected to live in their own motorhome/trailer which can be parked in the Camp Host Site near the front gate. The site has electrical, water and holding tank hook ups. Wi-Fi can be accessed through the Clubhouse.
All hook up services are provided free of charge. At the conclusion of their term they will be given a $1000 stipend, provided the conditions of the position were met.
Job Requirements:
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good problem solving, handyperson skills an asset
- Positive references from a previous Camp Host position
- Positive background check
- Owns a camping vehicle that is in good repair (please send photo of all sides)
