Job Description
Volunteer in Paradise! Elings Park – Volunteer Park Host Program – Currently 3 openings starting May 1 (2 FHU and 1 PHU)
5-minute walk to Hendry’s Beach. 8 minutes from downtown SB
Our park differs from traditional campground roles and county parks, we are a private park open to the public, not a campground. As a Park Host you will represent the park by helping with park operations and visitor services.
We offer a brand new, beautiful Full Hookup (FHU) site with private patios that includes water, sewer, and electricity in exchange for performing ~25 hours of work per week of park related work.
Shifts typically consist of 4–5 hour blocks per day, sometimes less but never more. These hours are usually split between opening, midday, and closing shifts. We do require weekend work, and all hosts are expected to assist during events, even if they fall on our scheduled days off. However, we work with the schedule in advance to ensure everyone receives the time off they need and deserve. The initial Park Host assignment is 90 days. This may be extended at the Park Host Manager’s discretion.
Some Job Duties:
– Opening and closing park gates at multiple entrances
– Operating the kiosk for membership checks and parking collection
– Checking in guests at the tennis courts and verifying memberships
– Performing membership checks at park gates and patrolling the park throughout
– Conducting UTV patrols, picking up random trash when you see it etc.
– Assisting with event tasks as needed (tasks TBD depending on event needs)
– Managing soccer field lights (on/ off)
– Supporting weddings, birthday parties, bmx track support, light maintenance and special events (directing guest parking upon arrival, being on call during the event (carrying the park host phone), collecting payment as needed, etc.
– Picking up loose trash around the park and reporting any issues or concerns.
– Must be proficient with square POS systems (parking on weekends, concession stand sales, etc.)
– Other tasks as needed.
**Please note that a working vehicle or electric bike is required for access to the south side of the park, as it’s quite a long walk. UTV access is available for patrol and use on the main side of the park only. A vehicle or e-bike is highly recommended.**
**Must pass a background check and have a valid drivers license
**Must be CPR Certified or willing to complete the course upon arrival
**Must complete a online (link provided) sexual harassment and abusive conduct certificate per the state of CA
