Minimum of 24 volunteer hours a week is expected for this position.
General duties include restroom maintenance, campground maintenance, public contacts, and updating visitor information boards.  Host must be able to handle garbage bags and clean restrooms.  While host will not handle fees, volunteer would be expected to restock fee envelopes at pay stations.  String trimming grass/weeds around facilities, recreation sites, trails and trail heads is commonly needed.
The Carr House “host pad,” where one would park their RV, is located away from our campgrounds and day use sites.  Carr House is a Forest Service administrative site that has a small volunteer operated Visitor Center.  You are not expected to have any participation in the actives at the Visitor Center.  Carr House visitor center is only open on Saturday and Sunday from 8-4:30, and is a fairly quiet location.
We offer full hook-ups (electric, water, septic and provide propane) at this site.  We also provide a Forest Service vehicle so long as you can obtain a Forest Service Drivers License.  Also at this location is a small workshop area that has extra room for your use.  Laundry machines are provided, as well as an additional stand up refrigerator/freezer.
