Job Description: Do you love working with kids? Would you like to make a difference for our future generations? Apply to be an Education Host Volunteer for Boyce Thompson Arboretum! As an Education Host Volunteer, you will lead field trips for K-12 students and run a weekly Nature Play activity. Boyce Thompson Arboretum (BTA), an independent non-profit organization, is located just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. At 343 acres, it is the largest and oldest botanical garden in the state of Arizona and holds a collection of more than 20,000 plants from around the world.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary duty: Learning field trip curricula and leading field trip groups for pre-K to high school aged children
Hosts work 20 hours/week (40 hours/site) or 30 hours/week for single occupancy
Facilitate Nature Play activities for children
Assist with educational special events
Lead educational tours for school groups
Develop nature and science-based activities for youth/families
Assist with set-up and clean-up of activities
Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
Dual occupancy applications will be prioritized (2 volunteers per site)
Available October 1st, 2026 – April 30th, 2027
High energy, up-beat personality
Nature-lover
Works well in a team and individually
Flexible and able to “go with the flow”
Interpretation experience
