We’re looking for a Guest Services Coordinator at Heritage RV Park, Augusta, Georgia

Work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Year around.  Stop packing up every ninety days.

We’re a family-owned park in Augusta, Georgia, and we’re looking for one person to run our office — not for a season, but for a few years. Work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Keep Monday through Thursday for yourself. Park the rig somewhere with mild winters and a low cost of living, and actually get to know a town instead of watching it go by in the mirror.

And Augusta is a good one to know. This is a golf town, and every April the entire golfing world shows up for the Masters golf tournament. — and the rest of the year, the courses belong to the people who live here. If you play, the winters are mild enough for golf nearly year-round, there are public courses all over the area. There’s an aquatic center just up the road as well, if lap swimming or water aerobics suits you better than eighteen holes.

There’s more besides. Every September thousands of athletes swim the Savannah River and ride out through the countryside for Ironman 70.3. Clarks Hill — Lake Thurmond — sits minutes up the road and draws bass tournaments all season long. Lake Thurmond with 1200 miles of shoreline provides boating fun. The mountains and the coast are both easy drives. And there’s real shopping, miles of biking trails, a military base, and a major medical center and research university right here in town — which matters when you’re planning to stay somewhere a while.

Weekends are when we need someone to greet our weekend arrivals who tired from the road wanting a site that’s ready and a smiling face, to answer the phone, and to handle reservations. If you like that rhythm — busy Friday through Sunday, quiet the rest of the week — this job will suit you.

The schedule
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., plus on-call answering phone from 6 to 10 p.m.  Occasional flexibility to trade days or cover for other staff. Start date is October.

The work
Run the office. Answer the phones. Take and manage reservations. Greet and check in weekend arrivals. Prepare campsites. Handle whatever a camper needs that day. A full job description is provided at the interview.

What actually matters to us
Not your résumé’s adjectives. Two things:

A real work ethic. Someone who notices what needs doing and does it, who stays on top of details without being chased, and who takes the place personally. One of the best people we’ve ever hired arrived with no campground experience at all. He was simply on top of everything, every day. That’s the person we’re looking for again. And if wanted, there’s room to grow.

The ability to learn. Our reservation system is the steepest part of this job, and it doesn’t matter to us where you learned to handle software — only that you can.

Now, here’s exactly what it takes to be considered.

1. Having computer literacy and competency.

Our reservation system is built on a spreadsheet-style grid. If you’re comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets — reading a grid, moving around rows and columns, entering data accurately — you’ll find it more familiar than you’d expect.

2. Having a real work history.

Not a summary of your strengths. Where you have actually worked. For each position: employer name and location, roughly when you started and ended, what you actually did, and a supervisor’s name and phone number.

3. You must be able to lift and fill 20–30 lb propane tanks. We’ll train you on the filling.

4. You must want to stay. We are not looking for a season. We’re looking for someone who’ll still be here in a few years and glad about it.
