JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position(s) will staff the campground entrance station during assigned days performing check-ins and check-outs per arrival and departure of campers daily. Perform “rounds” of the park to observe campsite occupancy status, verify campers have valid reservations and have been properly checked-in, deliver hangtags, and answer questions from the park visitors. Efficiently operate computer and utilize Recreation 1-Stop website to check daily reservations, process check-ins/check outs. Issue Corps of Engineers Annual Passes when customer presents annual pass receipt purchased from Automated Pay Station. Provide information to park visitors. Volunteer Campground Hosts selected for this position will work and average of 25 hours per week
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Make rounds through the area. One round will be performed from 8am – 10am during assigned days to observe campsite occupancy status, verify campers have valid reservations and have been properly checked-in, deliver hangtags and answer questions from the public as well as issue annual passes to day-users with valid annual pass receipts. Additional rounds will be performed while staffing the gatehouse as necessary.
Staff the campground entrance station from 2pm – 6pm during assigned days and other days as agreed to or scheduled with the Volunteer Coordinator. Perform check-ins and check-outs per arrival and departure of campers daily.
Operate a computer, monitor, printer, mouse, keyboard, and Recreation One Stop website to perform campground booth volunteer duties efficiently and effectively.
Utilize Recreation One Stop website to check daily reservations, process check-ins and check-outs and manage reservations within volunteer authorities as needed and approved by campground volunteer coordinator.
Issue Corps of Engineers Annual Passes when customer presents annual pass receipt purchased from Automated Pay Station(s).
Maintain gatehouse and areas adjacent to the gatehouse in a clean condition, including sweeping, keeping exterior free and clear of spider webs, dusting, etc.
Inform visitors of campground policies and procedures, rules, and regulations (Title 36 Brochure).
Inspect Life Jacket Loaner Stations at the swim beaches (instructions and schedules of inspections will be provided).
Notify Park Rangers and maintenance employees of maintenance items as necessary using work orders.
Attend Volunteer Orientation prior to park opening.
Assist with other duties as available and scheduled.

Baxter Campground (May 1-Sep 15)
Cape Fair Campground: (April 1-Oct 31)
Campbell Point Campground: (April 1-Oct 31)
Viola Campground: (May 1-Sep 15)
