Camp Host- 2-3 months between March and October
This position application is for either two or three month commitments between March 1, 2021 and October 31, 2020. When applying, please make sure you list the exact months you are available.
Campground hosts provide a valuable point of contact for visitors staying in park campgrounds. Hosts are official representatives of the National Park Service (NPS) and are required to wear the NPS volunteer uniform while on duty. Campground hosts work four days a week.
Campground host duties include, but are not limited to:
- Roving the campground throughout the day between 7 am and 9 pm
- Assisting campers finding campsites and/or reminding them about check-out times
- Educating visitors on campground regulations
- Removal of camping tags
- Providing a variety of visitor information on the shuttle system, Ranger and Jr Ranger programs, backcountry permits, hiking, and/or other activities within the park

Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to:
- Provide good communication and customer service to domestic and international visitors of all backgrounds and abilities
- Work independently
- Learn about the park quickly
- Own a RV/Motor Home/5th Wheel
- Drivers License
- General Assistance
- Visitor Information
- Working with People
Zion’s campgrounds are large and busy, but have beautiful views. Hosts are very much appreciated by park staff.
“Shoulder” season mornings start chilly but warm up when the sun comes over the canyon walls. Average monthly temperatures can be found here:

RV pads with full hook-ups are provided. Pay laundry facilities are located closely in the gateway town of Springdale.
- Slip, trip, and fall hazards
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be issued to hosts by the park. Zion is taking COVID-19 very seriously and the job has been altered to limit the amount of materials passed to/from campers. Hosts must wear a mask when interacting with visitors.
