Is the outdoors the right office for you? Do you like to avoid boredom with a little work while still being able to enjoy your retirement? If you like meeting new people and helping them enjoy their vacation then Hillman Ferry Campground might be the perfect place for you. A full hook-up camp spot will be provided for you and a generous $20 per day tax free stipend, which will not affect your retirement. We will ask for 40 hours per week and between seven to nine months of service. We have multiple shifts to fill, 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 1100pm-7am. The year will fly by as you enjoy your time at Hillman Ferry Campground. We look forward to seeing your applications.
Duties
Volunteer will register visitors into campsites and make them feel welcome to the campground. Volunteer will inform visitors of rules and regulations while inside the campground. Volunteer will help patrol the campground and relay information as needed to management, emergency personnel, or law enforcement. Volunteer will work and/or help out at the campground store, ordering and stocking supplies, then selling them to customers. Volunteer will work as a Resident Attendant at Land Between the Lakes NRA for 40 hours per week, including holiday, weekend, and evening/night shifts. As needed, volunteer may perform other duties at other locations. Volunteer will be designated as a collection officer, and issued a change fund, locking money bags, uniform, and keys. Volunteer will demonstrate outstanding customer service at all times, and perform in accordance with all federal, state, USDA Forest Service, Land Between the Lakes NRA laws, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants should have the ability to drive a vehicle, stand and sit to help customers throughout an 8 hour day, use a computer, and be able to answer questions to the best of their extent.
