Job Description

$12/hr

OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of the Parks Manager, responsible for customer service, care and maintenance of camp grounds or park facility as assigned during the parks. This position is on-site overnight during the camp season (generally April-October). It is intended for a couple and both individuals will be on payroll.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class.)

Collect camp fees, user fees, canoe rental fees, etc., and issue receipts. Makes deposits with administration as required.

Handle complaints concerning facilities, users and employees. Refers complainant to supervisor as required.

Provide customer service to camp or parks users, including school groups, or other tour groups.

Posts reservations on area reserved through administration. Keeps all signage updated in accordance with park sign plan.

Enforces rules and regulation of facilities and grounds.

General janitorial and maintenance duties. Such as: pick up garbage, dispose of minor debris, clean restrooms, supply restrooms, clean bowery, cleans out fire pits.

Mow and trim grass in parks as needed. Tends to fur trade period correct garden on-site.

Orders, pick-ups and deliveries supplies for Fort Buenaventura.

Maintains parks equipment.

Supervise part-time seasonal workers and/or community service workers/volunteers as needed.

Performs other duties in connections with the operation of the facility and/or grounds as may be assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

Education: High school graduation or equivalent.

Experience: Two years experience in customer service and/or janitorial.

Knowledge: Basic knowledge of maintenance and janitorial practices.

Skills: Skilled with small equipment maintenance and repair as well as basic gardening. Skilled in the use of a vehicle, cash register, credit card processor, copy machine, TV, DVD Player, basic hand tools, mower and weed trimmer, tractor, shovels, chain saw, rakes, saws, etc.

Abilities: Ability to maintain receipt records; ability to camp on site for extended periods of time; ability to perform work requiring light, medium, and occasionally heavy physical effort; ability to follow direction and maintain good working relationships with others.

YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have and demonstrate a pleasant and cooperative attitude and be able to work with sometimes difficult people in a calm and professional manner without losing their temper. Must be able to work through situations by finding a solution as beneficial as possible to parties involved. Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver’s license and have a good driving record. Must have own well maintained/presentable living quarters (trailer or camper, etc.) and be able to use for extended periods of time during season/duty.
