UPPER IOWA RESORT | Camp Host Job Description
Position Camp Host duties includes work and pay for two people (preferably a couple). This position typically runs from the middle of May to the middle of September.
Qualifications Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Work will be a few days during the week and every weekend. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in basic computer skills. Ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. Ability to walk a ½ mile and back.
Office Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service both in person and on the phone
- Comply with policies and procedures
- Make reservations for camping, cabins, and river rentals/shuttles
- Check in/out guests
- Attend to the computer/cash register
- Prepare concessions as needed (ice cream cones, pizza, etc)
- Keep the office and restrooms clean
- Clean cabins after check out and keep the laundry going
- Assist with enforcing general policies
- Keep an eye on the pool area
- Other duties as assigned
Grounds Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service both in person and on the phone
- Comply with policies and procedures
- Assist campers as needed
- Drive the shuttle vans to drop off tubers/canoes/kayaks. Assist guests with unloading and loading canoes/kayaks with the ability to lift half a canoe weighing 75 lbs over your head.
- Mow/trim grass and landscaping as needed
- Operate a utility tractor
- Pick up trash daily and clean fire pits/sites after check out
- Minor repairs to plumbing, electric, carpentry, etc
- Pump out seasonal campers tanks as needed
- Other duties as assigned
We will provide a campsite near the entrance of the campground with sewer, water, electricity, WiFi, and laundry.
