Camp Host Positions Available
Black Mesa Ranger District, on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, is seeking motivated individuals and/or couples to fill several host positions in the Rim Lakes Recreation Area on the Mogollon Rim for the 2022 summer season.
Hosting provides a wonderful opportunity to escape the heat of the valley and spend the summer in the cool mountain comfort of the Mogollon Rim and combines pleasure and relaxation with the enjoyment and stimulation of meeting new people.
Camp Host duties include:
Providing forest visitors information they need such as directions, explaining rules, and answering questions
Perform minor maintenance, rake sites, clean fire rings, picnic tables, pick up litter, and monitor area usage
Report vandalism and other problems to Forest Service personnel
The position is NOT required to collect fees from campers or visitors.
What to expect as a Camp Host?
A host must work well with people, be personable, neat in appearance, and behave in a manner appropriate to the workplace. They will be required to be on-site a minimum of 32 hours per week, especially on weekends and heavy use holidays. The host’s position involves walking, raking, shoveling, and working outside in a variety of weather conditions. This may include standing, bending, twisting, carrying, and lifting. An enclosed travel trailer or RV is required. Water and trash pick-up are provided as well as a FREE campsite. No hookups are available.
