Camp Host

Seasonal Camp Host job opening for campground located near Hueco Tanks State Park. We are located 25 minutes outside El Paso, TX.  Hueco Tanks is well known for it’s Native American history, rock art paintings, and world class rock climbing. We are under 2 hours to National Parks including Guadalupe Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands. We are under 1 hour from regional attractions including Franklin Mountains, Red Sands and Rio Bosque Wetlands. Other nearby attractions include the Organ Mountains in Las Cruces, Hot Spring in Truth or Consequences, Hot Springs in Deming and the Gila Mountains.

Our campground offers primitive camping, RV sites, camper rentals, yurt rentals & house rentals. We operate seasonally from November – April. Applicants should familiarize themselves with Hueco Tanks State Park regulations to ensure they understand park visitation if they desire to visit the park.

CAMP HOST DUTIES:

cleaning rental units
daily shower/toilet cleaning
Ensure primitive site campers have paid/registered,
Collecting pay envelopes (self pay site),
Monitor water tank levels,
Occasional guest assistance
Maintaining cleanliness of grounds,
Report maintenance / repair issues
Be observant of campground activities/enforce campground rules.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

WORK/TRADE POSITION  –  10 hrs/week in exchange for a FULL HOOK UP SITE.   Total of 40 hours/ month requirement (10 hrs/week) in exchange for FHU RV SITE, includes utilities (water, 20/30/50 amp electric, sewer, internet, trash) plus access to free showers and laundry facility

HOURLY PAY: This is a trade for site position. Our goal is to complete all of the work within the allotted monthly work hours indicated above, however if for some reason we need more hours then any hours over the monthly hour requirement would be paid $15/hour. Applicants should not rely on this position for income as it is primarily a trade position.

Start date is flexible.

3 month minimum commitment.

Qualifications:

Basic record-keeping experience, including money handling
Able to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately
Willing to work a flexible work schedule and be on call .  Ability to move safely over potentially uneven dirt terrain, able to climb a ladder.  Ability to work in cold weather.

Hiring is contingent on successful completion of a background check , Valid drivers license, Minimum age: 21
