DESCRIPTION:

Provides a positive National Park Service presence in the campground and provides a more pleasurable and safe experience for park visitors.

Represents the park. Answers visitor questions and distributes information. Checks for compliance of regulations. Assists in educating visitors about regulations and violations, referring serious situations to Law Enforcement. Makes daily early a.m. and p.m. round of campground and day use area to ensure fee compliance. Assists with reservations including posting and tracking reserved sites, monitoring and check-in. Assists in Fee Office and various other projects assigned by supervisor.

Becomes familiar with park, knows areas inside and outside of park, uses park radios in a professional manner, and helps visitors and employees as needed in emergencies.

 

DUTIES

Makes daily early a.m. and p.m. round of campground and day use area to ensure fee compliance. Assists with reservations including posting and tracking reserved sites, monitoring and check-in. Assists in Fee Office and various other projects assigned by supervisor.

Becomes familiar with park, knows areas inside and outside of park, uses park radios in a professional manner, and helps visitors and employees as needed in emergencies.

Drives Park vehicle and/or golf cart; demonstrates ability to supervisor before operating alone. Uses Park radios. A VIP uniform and/or name tag is worn; uniforms will be returned to the Park VIP Coordinator at the end of the season.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Should be gregarious and people oriented. Ability to drive and work in a safe manner. Good driving record. Should have a current, valid State driver’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Manzanita Lake Campground is located one mile east of the Manzanita Lake Entrance and is the largest campground in the park. This popular campground is ideal for families, RVs, and trailers. Located adjacent to Manzanita Lake, campers can enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. Cell service is extremely limited in the campground. Nearest reliable cell service is located two miles away at Chaos Crags pullout on the park highway. No Internet access available in the Manzanita Lake Area. Free WiFi is available inside the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center, 30 miles south.
