Park Support

Agate Fossil Beds National Monument has 2 beautiful, cement RV pads with full hook-ups within the ranger housing neighborhood of 4 houses. A short trail connects the neighborhood to the visitor center for volunteers working with interpretation. The maintenance barn is within the neighborhood.

We need volunteers who are passionate about helping the park look amazing for our visitors and keeping it organized and well-run for our staff. When interviewing, please pick the position you feel is the best fit for you.

Maintenance-Grounds/Trails: Mow, weed-whack, and prune using large mowers & hand tools of 3,000-acre property.

Maintenance-Special Projects: Paint and other facility upkeep as determined by the maintenance lead.

Interpretation: Greet visitors at the front desk, share information about the park’s resources, complete special projects that you are interested in (projects may include updating park accessibility of videos, exhibits, and photos; supporting night sky events by helping with telescopes; keeping up with plant identification signs on the trails, etc.)
