ADDRESS: PO Box 2683 Titusville, Florida, 32781
DATES: 6/20/2024 – 10/1/2024
DEPT: Fish & Wildlife Service
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is seeking individuals with a passion to educate and engage with others. Candidates may be asked to assist, and sometimes lead, educational programming on and off-site. As such, individuals and couples must be comfortable with public speaking in front of groups of students and the public. Candidates must be willing to occasionally travel locally, using Refuge vehicles, in order to assist with community events around the greater Titusville area. Assisting with Refuge maintenance is also required, including custodial maintenance and Refuge trash-pickup. Concrete RV pads with full hookups, 30/50 AMP electricity, and shared laundry facilities are provided in exchange for working 24 hours/week per person. Due to the nature of the Refuge, no pets are allowed unless kept within the RV. Bottled water is provided due to tap water being unsafe for consumption, although not harmful for RV water lines. This urban refuge sits just 6 miles from downtown Titusville where local shops, restaurants, and entertainment can be enjoyed.
