Job Description
Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site is looking for Park Hosts for Summer of 2026 (4/1/2026 – 10/1/2026.) This is a rare opportunity to camp at one of South Carolina’s most unique State Parks! Charles Towne Landing is considered the birthplace of South Carolina and the park features an interactive museum, a natural habitat zoo, a replica trading ship, 2 premiere event venues, and miles of trails through pristine gardens, salt marsh and forest, right in the heart of the Charleston metro!
Park host duties are mainly working in the Visitors Center selling admission tickets and gift shop items, answering phone calls, restocking retail inventory and cleaning restrooms. Shifts are typically 4 hours, 5 days a week. Other duties may occasionally include assisting with park maintenance, events and driving the shuttle cart. This park is day-use only so there is no overnight or on-call duties.
This is a volunteer position, minimum hours requirement is 24 hours per week, per site. Compensation is a Full Hookup site with 50/30/20 electric. Minimum commitment of 3 months, maximum of 6. Openings available April 1st 2026. We are accepting applications for Summer and Fall of 2027 but need someone for 2026!
