CAMPGROUND: Water Safety & Informational Services Volunteer

DEPT: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

AVAILABILITY: 5/1/2020–9/19/2020

RV INFORMATION: In exchange for 20 hours of volunteer work per week, volunteers are provided an electric campsite in a wooded campground near Berlin Lake.

Volunteer Activities• Office/Clerical • Other • Trail/Campground Maintenance • Tour Guide/Interpretation • Visitor Information • General Assistance DescriptionWater Safety & Informational Services Volunteer: Take the time out to enjoy the ever-changing pattern of life and scenery that awaits you at Berlin Lake located in between Akron, Youngstown and Cleveland. In addition to its colorful scenery, Berlin Lake offers a wide variety of recreational experiences, including camping, boating, picnicking or just relaxing in peaceful surroundings. Volunteer Duties: Makes public contact to dispense information and assist visitors. Prepares and gives informational program talks to the visiting public. Assists ranger with educational tours, talks, walks, programs and events. Updates bulletin boards and promotes programs and events. Distributes informational materials and water safety products. Promotes water safety through roving ramp rewards informal appearances. Assists in coordination of life jacket loaner program. Assists with inventory and organization of water safety products and materials. Special Skills: Outgoing, friendly, strong communication skills.
