AVAILABILITY: 1/15/2020–1/15/2021

RV INFORMATION: Full-time Visitor Center Hosts who wish to receive camping in return for volunteer services will be assigned a campsite with water, electric in the Fisherman’s Corner Campground.

Volunteer Activities• Other • Visitor Information • General Assistance DescriptionVisitor Center Volunteer: Dates: This Position is Year Round 2020 Volunteer Duties: The primary duty of a full-time visitor center Host is operation of the Mississippi River Visitor Center. There are three full-time Visitor Center Host positions. Visitor Center hours during this period are 9:00 am through 5:00 pm seven days a week. Hosts are required to provide an average of 21 hours of service per week and may serve the entire recreation season. Additional volunteer activities may be necessary to meet the hour requirements, but can be arranged through the volunteer coordinator. Special Skills: Comfortable greeting and talking to customers, running the cash register, balancing funds and receipts at the end of each day, providing lock and dam tours and visitor center tours and being comfortable with large crowds in the visitor center at any given time.
