Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Trail/Campground Maintenance Photo Courtesy of FS DescriptionCAMPGROUND HOST at Long Pool Recreation Area Responsibilities may include: Providing friendly service and recreational information to campers, hikers, bicyclers, canoeists, anglers and day-use visitors. Taking recreational data by walking the 2 camping loops, day use areas and facilities twice a day Picking up litter Cleaning restroom/shower in all picnic/day use/campground areas daily Explaining the campground regulations and the reasons for them. Hosts are provided with a camping space, including full hook-ups for their RV (60amp) Long Pool Recreation Area is centrally located for access to the picturesque Ozarks Mountains. Visitors can view rock bluffs, swim in crystal clear streams, hike wooded hillsides, and canoe down the Big Piney Wild and Scenic River. Nearby attractions include the Lake Dardanelle State Park, Arkansas Tech University, and the city of Russellville, AR which provides numerous recreational opportunities. To get to Long Pool Recreation Area from I-40, take Arkansas Highway 7 North towards Dover, follow through town, approx. 6 miles, turn left (west) on Arkansas 164 and go 3 miles, turn right (northeast) on county road 14 and go 3 miles, then turn left (northwest) on County Road 15 and go 2 miles.
