RV INFORMATION: Housing is provided via a campsite with full hookup. Volunteer must provide their own camping unit. No showerhouse or restroom facility is available, only a campsite with electric, water and sewer hookup. Wireless internet access and laundry facilities are provided.

Volunteer Activities• Conservation Education • Office/Clerical • Tour Guide/Interpretation • Visitor Information • Fish/Wildlife • Science • General Assistance Photo Courtesy of FWS Description*Visitor/Environmental Education Center Volunteer Opportunity* U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service/Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery We are currently seeking two-person teams to help staff our Center and assist in our outreach activities. Availability: November 2020- Winter 2021. Minimum of three month commitments preferred. Duties include: meeting/greeting the public; answering questions; performing majority of cleaning (does include Center restrooms) and minor maintenance; leading tours and helping with field trips; assisting in day-to-day operation of Center gift shop; stocking/tracking/ordering brochures; helping to plan special events, workshops and other outreach programs. Workamper volunteers receive a FHU campsite including onsite laundry and limited WiFi, in exchange for 18-24 hours/person/week (winter) and 20-27 hours/person/week (summer) for couples. Hour requirements for individuals are 32 hours per week. Propane hookup available during the winter months. Wolf Creek NFH sets in the Cumberland River valley, just below Wolf Creek Dam on Lake Cumberland. This area boasts stunning scenic views and offers plentiful wildlife observation opportunities. With Lake Cumberland, the Cumberland River, and Hatchery Creek in your backyard, it’s certainly an angler’s paradise. Nestled in the south central hills of Kentucky, this location proves to be central to many regional features including other federal and state lands, as well as private attractions, providing ample opportunity for day trips during your down time.
