Have you ever interpreted American History that included the rich and diverse stories of the French, Spanish, Africans, or Native Americans? Do you know what a Creole is? We invite you to join our team in one of the most special places in the South. Natchitoches, on the Cane River, is home to more than 300 years of history; settled in 1814, is the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Cane River Creole National Historical Park consists of two 18th century French Creole plantations. Both plantations are recognized as Bicentennial farms. Cultural resources abound at the park; several original buildings can be found at both sites and we have some of the best creole architecture in Louisiana. Interpretive opportunities include a house tour, grounds tours, and roving interpretation, and possibly off-site programming. We have two trailer spaces on site with electricity and water available. We also provide an onsite washer and dryer.
