Come join us as a campground host at Twin Peaks Campground located in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the heart of the Sonoran Desert, a place of rugged beauty, expansive vistas and sunny skies! We enjoy perfect winter weather in a beautiful place with a fun crew!
Joining our team at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument you will experience the remarkable and unique landscape that is the Sonoran Desert. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is an international Biosphere Reserve and as such is a strikingly beautiful landscape with abundant opportunities for quiet, solitude and outdoor recreation; 95% of the park is designated wilderness. The Sonoran Desert is a wet desert, with rainy seasons in the winter and summer, an incomparable place in terms of biological and ecological diversity. Visitors come from all over the world to marvel at the rugged beauty of the borderlands here in Arizona. The borderlands have a rich cultural tradition blending Mexican, Tohono O’odham and American art, cuisine, language, and culture.
The park shares an international border with Mexico; cross-border immigration and smuggling do occur here. Customs and Border Patrol is a constant presence in the park and park staff are diligent about safety and resource protection.
Campground Operations
Twin Peaks Campground is located approximately 2 miles from the Kris Eggle Visitor Center. The campground is on a 100% reservation only system through recreation.gov. Visitors can reserve sites same day up to 6 months in advance. There are 34 tent sites and 174 sites for recreational vehicles (RVs). A few sites can accommodate RV’s up to 45’ in length. There are also 5 group campsites located a short distance away from the main campground.
Campground host sites in the Twin Peaks Campground have electrical, sewer, and water hook ups.

DUTIES
A Day in the Life of a Twin Peaks Campground Host:
Welcome and orient campers.
Assist park rangers with verifying daily arrivals and departures.
Assist park rangers with checking visitors into the campground.
Help campers locate their campsites.
Provide information and orientation about programs, activities, hikes, and drives.
Provide information and orientation about the location of services outside the monument.
Educate campers on campground regulations.
Report maintenance, potential safety hazards, and guest issues to supervisor.
Rove the campground throughout the day.
Clean and maintain vacated Twin Peaks and group campsites daily: raking, sweeping, clean grills, trim vegetation, pick up litter, minor maintenance.
Assist park rangers with site occupancy tags as directed.
A Host must work well with people, be personable, neat in appearance, friendly, professional and fun with staff and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be able to do the following:
Work a minimum of 32 hours per week and no more than 40 hours per week.
Operate a government vehicle safely.
Practice and provide exemplary customer service.
Work independently.
Communicate with diverse group of visitors
Collaborate with and effectively communicate with other team members, volunteers and NPS staff.
Ability to accept supervision, direction, and constructive feedback.
Respond with patience, tact, and empathy.
Emphasize safety with all activities.
Wear volunteer uniform and name badge in accordance with polices.
Follow standard operating procedures and directions.
Pass non-federal employee background investigation (required).
Valid state issued driver’s License required.
Other Favorable Qualifications:
Previous experience working with visitors/customers.
Familiarity with campground operations.
Familiarity with Recreation.gov campground reservation system.
