DESCRIPTION:
Bayou Cocodrie NWR is seeking a volunteer to mow, chainsaw, and operate a UTV on a series of ATV trails and foot trails throughout the refuge. Previous Federal experience and FWS certifications are preferred.
Use of tractor to mow trails, use of chainsaw to clear trees from trails, and use of manual tools such as shovels, pry bars, axe, rake, chains, and other equipment. Operation of all-terrain vehicle and 4×4 truck.
Housing:
RV pad with full hookups, laundry facilities not on-site. Alternative: About an hour away, RV pad with full hookups and laundry facilities, house with minimal furnishings, shared housing. If utilizing any housing option, minimum of 24 hours of work per week for a minimum eight-week period is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Federal experience using chainsaws, tractors, ATV/UTVs, and tools is strongly preferred, along with previous certifications in using the equipment and tools on Federally-managed lands.
