DESCRIPTION:
Seeking to fill 2 maintenance/visitor service positions with 3-month minimum stay, with possibility for position to extend to maximum of 8 months.
RV site for this position is at no cost with individual providing 28 hours of service each week. Wednesday through Saturday are work days but schedule may change with projects that occur. The site has water, electric and sewage hookups. The site is grass, with no cement or gravel pad. The water is non-potable and used in RV but not for drinking or cooking. Worker must be able to lift 25 pounds and have the ability to walk one-half mile.
- Mowing facility grounds and recreation areas, clearing trails and unpaved service roads, weeding.
- Assisting staff with maintenance of impoundment dikes.
- Maintaining public restrooms, fishing pier and parking areas.
- As needed, perform minor plumbing and small equipment repairs.
- Assist as necessary with repairs to trail boardwalks and bridges.
- Assist with construction projects as needed.
- Assist visitors with refuge and forest information.
- Assisting staff and other volunteers with planting, weeding in pollinator garden areas.
- Work with staff, other volunteers and the general public.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and walk a minimum of 1/2 mile.

Indoors and Outdoors. Facility and grounds, trails maintenance, gardens will entail outdoor work. Visitor services work such as visitor orientation, front desk and nature store will be indoors at the Sewee Visitor and Environmental Education Center.
