DESCRIPTION:
Capulin Volcano is looking for a Spring/Summer Retail associate(s) to assist in the Visitor Center gift shop run by our nonprofit partner Western National. The VIP will assist in keeping the gift shop tidy, ringing up customers, and help with labeling new inventory.
· This will be a Position. This position will be 24 hours for an individual or 32hours/week if there is a couple that wants to volunteer and split the hours.
· Volunteers will run the register, restock, tidy, and help with new inventory as needed.
- Volunteers will meet the CVA and WNPA Store Manager on day one to go over duties and start training.
- VIPs will assist in keeping the bookstore tidy, restocking merchandise as needed, and running the register.
- VIP will also help with labelling new inventory as it comes in.
- Contact the CVA, Volunteer Coordinator, or WNPA Store Manager if there are any questions or concerns.
- Ability lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to maintain an accurate drawer and return proper change.
- Able to work in a group and use good communication.
- Able to properly label and put away new merchandise as needed.
- Willingness to learn about Capulin Volcano/share that information with visitors as they are being checked out.
- Making visitors aware of the NPA membership and offering to sign them up if they are interested.

Capulin Volcano is a small Monument with a small staff in a tiny town. Staff from other departments float in and out of the Visitor Center to say hi or talk about work. We usually have several potlucks throughout the year and most of the staff loves to bake so it is not uncommon to come in and find fresh-baked goods on the breakroom table.
